Objectives
- Process error free customer purchase orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Achieve departmental goal by meeting or exceeding the order processing on time objective.
- Achieve individual productivity goals (errors/month, orders/lines entry/hour).
- Complete cross-training to perform all sales support functions accurately and effectively.
- Uphold the Merit Brass corporate mission statement, acting with a sense of urgency and upholding the core values as published.
- Maintain a professional, ethical, and respectful attitude while exercising teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that customer orders are entered within the specified order entry goal.
- Receives and processes orders accurately and efficiently.
- Works closely with the credit department, purchasing, and the Shipping Liaison to ensure prompt processing of customer purchase orders.
- Contributes to identifying root cause and corrective actions relating to errors, processes, and other goals as required.
- Participate in training as required for current and future roles.
- Advocates the spirit of teamwork and personal accountability in the performance of other duties and responsibilities as requested by department supervisor.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime when asked by a manager or supervisor.
- Ability to communicate professionally and foster teamwork with cross functional teams and within department.
Requirements
- High school graduate, G.E.D., or equivalent.
- Ability to speak clearly and communicate in a writing style that is grammatically correct.
- Ability to learn, retain and utilize extensive part number matrix.
- Ability to quickly learn and operate computer software systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and effectively prioritize and manage workflow.
- Accurate, focused and detail oriented.
- Highly proficient in Excel, Word & Microsoft Outlook.
- Dependable work habits, including punctuality, attendance, and work ethic.
- Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload.
- Self-motivated.
- Capable of managing a multi-task environment with deadlines & other requirements.
- Ability to work effectively with customers and co-workers.
- Willing and able to continuously improve yourself, others, and the operations in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Capacity to work in a total quality management environment with continuous process improvement.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned to support overall Merit Brass operations.
